Demon's Hunger Review

The Compact of Sorcerers is a brotherhood of sorcerers that protect the world from demons and hybrids. Dain Hawkins is a sorcerer and he understands the importance of his job. After all, he lost his wife and daughter to a demon centuries ago. He doesn’t plan to ever fall in love with a mortal again because it ends in death and heartbreak. It just doesn’t work out for him.

Dr. Vivian Cairn works as an anthropologist studying bones. She’s been suffering from strange blackouts where she can’t remember where she’s been or done for the last twelve hours. The blackouts are getting worse and Vivian doesn’t know what to do about it. Vivian has had a lot of loss in her life since she lost her high school boyfriend and her father at a young age. Her mother doesn’t spend any time with Vivian nor does she care much about what goes on in her life. Love is something Vivian doesn’t have much of in her life and she could definitely use someone special to connect with.

Dain discovers little red velvet bags that have bones in them and some magic. He doesn’t know much about them besides that the hybrids were collecting them and that can’t be a good thing. Dain visits Vivian for her help in studying the bones and is shocked by the immediate chemistry between them.

Vivian is mortal but her connection to Daine is undeniable. They could hardly be in the same room as each other without both of them wanting to rip each other’s clothes off. In the mean time, someone is brutally killing people and it looks to be the work of a succubus. The female sex demon is dangerous and will stop at nothing to satisfy her need. Will Daine be able to find and kill the succubus before she murders more men?

Demon’s Hunger is the second book in the Compact of Sorcerer’s Series featuring one of the members of the Brotherhood. The story started off a little slow and it took about 80 pages for it to capture my attention. Once I got about that far into the book, I could not put it down until I finished it.

Demon’s Hunger is extremely suspenseful, thrilling, romantic, mysterious and sexy! The identity of the succubus killer is well plotted and kept me guessing throughout the whole book. I look forward to the next book in the Compact of Sorcerer’s Series to learn more about the other members of the Brotherhood.
